The demand for international school education in Malaysia is showing no sign of slowing down! There are over 160 international schools across Malaysia and the number is expected to grow even more over the next few years. Parents who are thinking of enrolling their children in an international school for the 2020 school year have more options than ever before.
Here are six new international schools in Malaysia that have recently opened their doors to students!
Slated to open in January 2020, Imperial International School is located in the township of Menglembu, Ipoh. The school offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Cambridge International Curriculum that leads to the IGCSE and A Level examinations.
In addition, the school’s curriculum aims to future-proof students with 4D immersive learning and global exposure. Mandarin is studied at primary and secondary school levels which prepare students to select Mandarin as an IGCSE elective. Imperial International School is also the sister school to Peninsula International School Australia in Selangor.
This new international school is located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The Cambridge International Curriculum is offered leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Qosmo International School is open to students at preschool, primary school and secondary school levels.
The school can be found in Bandar Seri Botani, Ipoh. Established in 2020, the school is open to students in Early Years as well as Year 1 to Year 9 for their first year. Years 10 and 11 will be introduced in the future. Seri Botani International School offers the Cambridge International Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Boarding facilities are also available at the school.
Established in November 2019, Seri Jubli International School offers the Cambridge International Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. The school also emphasises on programming and robotics in their curriculum. Seri Jubli International School is located in Kluang, Johor.
Treetop International School is located in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. The school adopts the Montessori approach at preschool and elementary school levels. Play-based learning and outdoor learning is integrated in their preschool curriculum. In addition, the school’s elementary school curriculum consists of mathematics, literacy and discovery. Students are assessed through the University of New South Wales ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools). Treetop’s secondary school curriculum is a balance of academics and real life application. Unique subjects such as data handling and entrepreneurship are also offered.
The school was recently opened to the public in January 2020. It is an extension of Tzu Chi's Da Ai Kindergarten and is located in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Lessons will be conducted in two languages, Mandarin and English. Tzu Chi International School accepts students aged four to 19 years old. The school offers the Cambridge International Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Tzu Chi’s humanistic lessons are also integrated into the curriculum.
