It was a terrific week at Australian International School Malaysia (AISM)’s Creative Arts Week, which showcased visual art and digital media exhibitions, and music, dance and drama performances, and special circus workshops conducted by circus specialists from Circus Avalon from Newscastle, Australia! Aptly themed ‘Showtime’, the activities of the week also highlighted a Middle School Production and the all-time favourite music showcase ‘AISM Rocks!’.

Among the exciting activities organised at the school was the Big Top, an interactive arts tent, where students and teachers had lots of fun trying circus tricks with props and playing circus games. The school community was also able to contribute to and design circus-related artworks for the tent. Students were also works of art themselves in our face painting workshops.

The Visual Art exhibition was indeed a sight for sore eyes. The creative artworks by the Middle School students included 3D and caricature portraits, surrealism photography while the Senior students worked on Conceptual Arts and digital techniques.

The Creative Arts Week at AISM provides opportunities for students across all year groups to allow their inner talents to shine, whether it’s through art, performing on stage, making harmony with a musical instrument or just letting their creative energy flow. At AISM, emphasis is not only placed on academic excellence, but also on elements of teaching that reflect the Australian education philosophy of developing the whole child.
