List of Australian International Schools in Malaysia
There are currently over 170 international schools in Malaysia today. Each international school is unique in terms of their offerings such as the type of the curriculum followed. The British Curriculum is by far the most popular curriculum offered by international schools in Malaysia. • Students enter Kindergarten at the age of five and will be granted Higher School Certificate (HSC) at the end of Year 12 after 13 years of schooling.
• The curriculum is divided into eight Key Learning Areas (KLAs) which are English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts, Technologies and Languages.
• The Australian Curriculum is a flexible and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of a mobile and globally focused, multi-cultural community.
• Assessments are continuous throughout the school period and include mid-year and year-end formal exams. In the final years of schooling, assessment is divided into two components; 50% is examination-based and 50% is assignment-based.
