About St. Joseph’s Institution International School, Malaysia

Located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, we proudly carry forward the rich 300-year Lasallian tradition, inspired by the vision of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Our affiliation with St. Joseph’s Institution International School in Singapore allows us to share valuable expertise and resources, enhancing the educational experiences we provide. Additionally, as part of the Lasallian East Asia District (LEAD), we collaborate with other Lasallian institutions across Asia, reinforcing our commitment to delivering a high-quality, holistic education that fosters character, compassion, and a love for lifelong learning.

At SJIIS, we stand firmly on the five principles of Lasallian Education: inclusivity, respect for all individuals, excellence in teaching, faith in the divine, and a heartfelt concern for the poor and social justice.

Our comprehensive curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of students at every stage, from Early Years (ages 3-5) and Elementary School (ages 6-11) to High School (ages 11-18). We offer a vibrant mix of the UK National Curriculum, daily Mandarin lessons, Singapore Math, and IGCSE and A Level options.

In addition to academic excellence, we champion participation in a diverse array of co-curricular activities. Through our memberships in AIMS and FOBISIA, we provide exceptional opportunities for achievement in sports, the arts, and academic pursuits, encouraging every student to thrive and excel.

We are thrilled to announce that St. Joseph’s has been awarded Exemplary Status in our Virtues Project accreditation!

Before we reflect on what we’ve achieved together as a Lasallian community, it’s important to share a little about the Virtues Project itself.

Founded in 1991 and now active in over 135 countries, the Virtues Project inspires individuals of all cultures to live by their highest values and remember who we truly are. At St. Joseph’s, we saw a natural and powerful alignment between the Virtues Project and our Lasallian values. From the beginning, we recognised how the five strategies of the Virtues Project could help our students discover purpose, experience joy, and cultivate compassion and integrity within our school community.

We proudly entered the accreditation process with the hope of not just being recognised as emerging or competent, but as exemplary—the highest standard. We are delighted to share that we have met the criteria for Exemplary Status, based on our comprehensive staff training, the integration of Virtues in classroom resources, the active involvement of students, and meaningful engagement with parents.

The Virtues Project is now deeply embedded in our school’s mission and vision. And as we step into our 10th year as a Lasallian school, this recognition is both a celebration of our journey and a testament to the strength of our community.

We are grateful to every staff member, parent, and student who has contributed over the past nine years to living and sharing the Virtues—at school, at home, and in the broader community. We look forward to proudly displaying our accreditation on our website and continuing to live out the values that define us.
