Today marks the 25-year anniversary of Sri Bestari Private School Kuala Lumpur, a premier and one of the oldest private schools in Malaysia. The school’s humble beginning began as a Kindergarten within the Bandar Sri Damansara Township which morphed into a full-fledge private school predominantly catering to residents of the area. However, today students from afar, as well as children of expatriates, enrol their children to the school for the well-rounded and wholesome education it is known for. From the thousands of alumni’s who completed high school education here at Sri Bestari Private School KL, many have pursued successful professional careers and entrepreneurial endeavours and are making a name for themselves in their chosen field. The enrolment of children of her alumni’s back to the school speaks volumes of the education and quality experience gained as a student as they seek the same for their children today. Incidentally, many of the pioneer batch of teachers are still loyally serving at the school and the motto, as well as the ethos of the school which are ‘No child, escapes our attention’ with its tagline ‘Your child’s bright future begins here’ are forever intact.

It is often mentioned that ‘Once a Bestarian Always a Bestarian’ is vouched on by many ex-staff and alumnus as the culture of camaraderie, mutual respect and sharing is so evident among her community which make the school a truly unique private school in Malaysia. The school song, the weekly reciting of the Rukun Negara and paying allegiance to our National Flag, Constitution, Yang Dipertuan Agong and of course Negaraku has kept the community forever optimistic come what may. It is ingrained among Bestarians that success requires the involvement and support of every conceivable stakeholder and to this Sri Bestari Private School Kuala Lumpur is proud of its grounding and humility in her community of students and staff who demonstrate the ideals of Steve Jobs who once said, “Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people”.

Sri Bestari Private School KL is never a school to rest on its laurels and plans are effectively afoot to ensure the next 25-years to her Golden Jubilee will be breathtaking. The school has embarked on a whole series of innovative initiatives to strengthen its programs offered on top of the National Curriculum to enhance the learning outcomes and experience. The receipt of international award in the Yves Quéré IBSE (Inquiry Based Science Education) Pilot Centre to improve the quality of Science teaching in primary and secondary schools is known to be effective in stimulating analytical and critical thinking skills. The school’s IBSE program is affiliated to La Fondation La main à la pâte, Paris which was set-up in 1996 and received endorsement of Académie des Sciences, the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris) and the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Lyon in 2011. Another international award is the ECO-Schools Program Green Flag and Hibiscus Award by WWF-Malaysia and the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE) which places the school as the only National Curriculum school in Malaysia accorded with such status and augurs well for the school in the Climate Change Education and Sustainable Goals SDGs agenda sweeping the globe.

25-years on and the school has initiated a comprehensive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) program from primary right up to secondary and is all part of ensuring our students are well versed in the intricacies of IR4.0.  On the softer side of things, Sri Bestari Private School KL embarked on the Education and Learning Support Academy (ELSA) for special needs students some 6 years ago and the demand has grown by leaps and bound. What is more intriguing as observed by teachers is the acceptance of our special needs students by others and it helps in their understanding of human diversity and the need to lend a helping hand when called upon.

Today’s once in a lifetime Silver Jubilee Officiating Ceremony of Sri Bestari Private School Kuala Lumpur by our former Chairman of the Board of Governors, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Asiah Abu Samah who is currently the Pro Chancellor of University Kelantan Malaysia together with Mr Low Gay Teck, the Managing Director of Land and General Berhad, and Dato' Sharifah Maimunah Syed Zin the current Chairman of the school’s Board of Governors marks the historic start of a 6-month long celebration well into 2022.
