What are your hobbies? My hobbies are writing poems, performing (rapping, playing in band, poetry slam), exercising, jogging with music on, and trying new things out.
What are your favourite subjects? My favourite subjects change by time, but I have always loved taking P.E, Drama, English, and Psychology.
What kinds of extracurricular activities do you do? I am currently engaged with volleyball club, yearbook club, school rock band, and am planning to join Model United Nation club.
Who is your favourite teacher and why? Not exaggerating, but all the teachers in SIS are amazing; they not only are good at teaching but all have different characteristics of their kind that connect with students, such as having similar hobbies or being aware of teenager trend. Yet, my current favourite teacher is Mr. Brendan, my social science (psychology) teacher because he is very logical and his explanations always make sense. I think he really knows how to teach, as he knows the subject well and is able to deliver them flawlessly. In addition, he is interesting because he is the lead singer of the teachers’ band and has a great sense of humour.
What is the one thing that you like the most about your school? What I like the most about my school is the openness. Unlike my previous or other schools, SIS provide safe environment that lets students discover and be themselves. There are many extracurricular activities that can build various skills like sportsmanship, public speaking, creativity, performing, or socializing. Briefly, I think my school is a place that a student can discover their own uniqueness and strengths and build their character.
Share a memorable experience in your school so far. There are many beautiful moments and experiences in the school for me. First, I was the publicity officer of the school for a year, which I had to play songs and announce news every morning. This got me socialize within school so well that almost everyone, even security guards know my name. Secondly, joining rock band was a great step for me, as it got me to perform in front of people at least five times a year, while having fun with playing drums. Third, going to a Cambodia trip as part of our CSR project, to teach in a rural area where education is scarce was an amazing journey. I experienced new culture, how it is to be a teacher, and learnt more values with great friends.
What is the best thing about being a student? I think the best thing about being a student is that we can try many things out as we are freer in time compared to adults, and have more accesses. We learn to make mistakes but in a safe environment where no one will judge us. SIS provides just that!
What do you hope to do when you finish school? I will apply my skills and knowledge I gained through experiences during school life, and create a path that emphasize myself by choosing a course that fits me the best in a university, while still being active with other clubs. I will try to keep building and being myself.
