Year 6 had an interestingly fun week!
To end their Area and Perimeter unit, they had a Maths Explorace outdoors. To earn a clue card that revealed the location of the next puzzle, students worked in teams to calculate the area and perimeter of various shapes! Our Year 6 students put their heads together to study and understand rectangles, triangles, and even rectilinear shapes!
They also applied their algebraic knowledge in one of the questions. After learning about areas and perimeters, Year 6 started a new block called Volume.
Over a span of 2 days, our Year 6 students learned and applied their knowledge in calculating Area, Perimeter, and Volume! With their Volume unit, they discovered the volume of cubes and cuboids. From this, they made fun 3D shapes with multi-link cubes.
