To ensure that children thrive, diverse co-curricular offerings educate the whole child, opening the door to the whole wide world through a framework that is guided by the Cambridge curriculum. The Early Years Programmes draw on the best, research-based learning practices, including a wealth of knowledge and experience from an international and homegrown staff base. In this school, spaces are designed to meet the needs of their youngest students. The facility serves as a rich site for active learning with a library, swimming pool, play area, atelier (art studio), little chef’s kitchen and integrated technology supported learning features. Dynamic learning opportunities balance a rich, academic environment with creative, purposeful play, helping children build a strong foundation of knowledge about the world around them.

Children are introduced to the foundational core components of education through the Little Tots Programme. The programme builds on children’s natural curiosity, interest and enthusiasm, and values play as the essence of learning. Each day will be one of wonder and enjoyment as children engage in exciting hands-on activities and spontaneous play experiences. The learning units are transdisciplinary and holistic, focusing on the total growth of a child, and encompassing social, physical, emotional, artistic and creative development to academic advancement. Children’s learning and exploration are organized around five key learning areas:

• Health and Physical Education
  • Tots Sensorial: Visual stimulation, Auditory Stimulation, Tactile Stimulation
  • Tots Fitness: Tots Gym Routine, Indoor and Outdoor Play

• Arts Education
  • Tots Music: Music and Movement, Fun with Percussion instruments and Dramatic Play
  • Tots Arts: Exploring Arts and Craft

• Language Education
  • Tots Read: Language expression, Picture Talk, Show and Tell, Word Game, Story Time and more.
  • 3 Languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

• Social Sciences Education
  • Tots Social: Paired and group activities for teaching values to live by, developing confidence and respect for self and others, social competence and positive attitude.
  • Tots Discovery: Exploring the environment.

• Mathematics and Science Education
  • Tots Numbers: Number Songs, Rhymes and Finger Play, Fun Games and Activities.
  • Tots Knowledge: Understanding about the world around them. Technology supported classrooms where learning goes beyond the four walls.

Beaconhouse educators base their programmes upon recognised stages of child development. Subsequently the individual child’s experiences are further developed and enriched to reflect real life. They inculcate habits of critical inquiry and scientific analysis such as free exploration, posing hypothesis and drawing conclusions through varied themes and projects. When children are able to apply their skills authentically, they develop an in-depth understanding of real-world concepts, and grow into flexible thinkers and self-directed learners. The completion of this International School Readiness Programme grants children direct entry to Year 2 at all Beaconhouse International Schools or other international schools.

Layering on top of that, everyone is motivated to explore their passions and excel to their highest abilities in varied enriching experiences. Children are offered the opportunity to engage in enrichment programmes including dance, robotics, speech and drama, agama, Tae Kwon Do, and additional tutorial classes for Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.

Academic Support

Beaconhouse believes that every child should have an equal opportunity to access the resources and support they need to pursue their academic goals.

They do observe the inclusion policy where children with learning difficulties will be considered for admission. However, there are limitations as the environment and curriculum do not cater for special needs children. Over the years, there are success stories supporting children with additional needs or mild disabilities.
