How long have you been teaching? 25 years.

What do you do in your free time? Reading, eating, crochet, outdoor sports.

Why did you become a teacher? Why did you choose teaching as a profession? I was offered a job to teach music in a music institution where I was studying part-time. After a year, I found that I actually loved teaching and it became my passion. I have tried other careers but nothing fits.

Tell us about your own education journey. I watched, studied and learnt the ‘art of teaching’ from friends and mentors in the same profession.

What is the most memorable moment in your teaching career so far? Performing at the KL Convention Centre for M100 Leading Graduate Awards for two consecutive years (2015 & 2016) and receiving a standing ovation from the crowd of high profile CEOs, MDs & HR Directors of top employers in Malaysia.

What do you like most about teaching? I get to explore and try new ideas, the smiles and confidence of the students as they grow, to know that I have made a difference in their lives.

What is the best thing about teaching at your school? The students’ energies and enthusiasm; the support from colleagues and management.

Who or what inspires you? My students.
