An Early Years program will be available at WIS in 2016, to prepare students for Year 1. BOARDING
At WIS, a well-organized and comprehensive student boarding system has been set up with great success, attracting more than 100 boarders to date hailing from all over Malaysia.
WIS is very proud of the unique educational experience it provides by ensuring a holistic and active campus life for boarding students. Boarders have ample access to the school’s fantastic facilities during after-school hours, including the
Fine Arts Center (for music, art and dance) and swimming pool. In addition, boarders are all assigned to the care of the Boarding House Parents, who are a select group of capable, caring and committed individuals.
In the two years since the Boarding Houses began operations, it has been a great privilege to see such close bonds being forged, enriching both the students and their Boarding House Parents. At WIS, boarders are truly a close community of life-long friends who support one another at school and beyond.
ENVIRONMENT
Staff and students alike have all expressed appreciation for the landscape and environment at WIS. In the mornings, one is awoken by the melody of songbirds (the lake is a sanctuary for migratory birds) and it is common to see local residents on a brisk walk to take in the fresh air, all against the backdrop of a majestic, green mountain range.

SPORTS
In order to make the most of its serene surroundings, WIS has also made substantial investment in its sporting facilities, which include a football field, indoor basketball and badminton courts, a swimming pool, two tennis courts, an artificial playing field and outdoor basketball courts. Through a rich and rewarding program of co-curricular activities, there is a focus on both participation and competition – so that every student feels engaged, regardless of whether they are completely new to a sport or aspire to play it competitively.
Despite being a relatively new school in Kampar, WIS players have already gone toe-to-toe with established schools in the district in popular sports such as basketball, netball, football, swimming and badminton, and have even represented the South Kinta district at state-level sports competitions.
