To quote the teacher, author and poet Robert John Meehan "The most valuable resource that all teachers have is each other. Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives". This Monday our Secondary teachers led and participated in a variety of different workshops to share their professional learning journeys from this year. This is part of our commitment as educators to lifelong learning, something integral to Uplands as an IB World School and to modelling the values we wish to instill in our students. Teaching teachers is challenging, we are often the most critical learners, however it was wonderful to see our teachers step up and lead their colleagues in a wide range of topics such as diversifying assessment, the meaning of global citizenship and giving meaningful feedback to students. We look forward to our second round of workshops next Monday and for more opportunities to collaborate, share our collective knowledge and develop new ideas to take back to our classrooms to help our students learn.
