More than 600 Primary and Secondary students studying Mandarin at the British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) took part in a special assembly to celebrate Chinese New Year in February.
The assembly, entitled “天天好天” (Everyday is a good day), saw the children perform a number of acts that delighted the gathered parents and guests in the school’s auditorium. This included poetry, dancing, a role-play telling the story of the goat (2015 is the year of the goat), singing the song of Spring, Spring cleaning dancing, lion dance and drumming. The yee sang tossing added to the gaiety of the Chinese New Year celebration. Everyone enjoyed themselves on the day, and participants dressed up in traditional Chinese dress. It was a memorable assembly for all involved.
Preparations for the assembly had been taking place for weeks, lead by the Chinese Department at BSKL and supported by the dedicated teachers, teaching assistants and parents.
BSKL wishes everyone all the best for a happy GOAT year filled with good health, good luck and much happiness.
