Epsom Senior Strings Ensemble Performing at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO)
What an unforgettable moment!
In January 2024, our Epsom Senior Strings Ensemble took centre stage at the illustrious Dewan Philharmonic at the Petronas Twin Towers, home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).
An exclusive performance for The KJC Arts Festival and Crescendo Music Competition Awards ceremony, featuring junior music participants from all over Asia, this was an incredible experience for our students to showcase their musical talents in this legendary venue that has welcomed some of the world’s top orchestras and virtuosos including the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, BBC Symphony and Vienna Symphony, Lorin Maazel, Sir Neville Marriner, Yehudi Menuhin, Nigel Kennedy, Joshua Bell, Harry Connick Jr and Andrea Bocelli, most of whom have praised the MPO for its fine musical qualities and vitality.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presented to our music students and one that will shape their musical experience, adding to an impressive student profile when applying to the top universities and music conservatoires in the future.
Soon to be introduced, the Epsom Music Academy will be led by Russell Crann, the Director of Performing Arts with 10 years of service as Course Director for the English Schools' Orchestra, a renowned national orchestra, providing a comprehensive education for musically talented individuals, combining academics and music.
