JIS holds Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Jerudong International School’s (JIS) held a flag hoisting ceremony in conjunction with the 36th National Day celebration yesterday.
The ceremony began with an introduction speech by Head Girl Alex Norris and Head Boy Sheng Kai.
The recitation of Doa was led by Wa’ie Adanan to bless the ceremony. Students from the Senior School council Fateenah Chin and Hana Sufri presented on the history behind Brunei’s National Day celebration and this year’s theme: Menjayakan Wawasan Negara.
The national anthem was played by the JIS Orchestra as the flag was raised.
Students and members of JIS teaching and administrative staff were present at the event. JIS Principal Nicholas Sheehan said, “It is always a tremendous honour to participate in this special day. We are especially proud that the annual flag raising ceremony is led by our senior students.”
