Recently, a group of Marlborough pupils experienced the benefits of the College’s Great British education through the public recognition of their achievements. With a breadth of opportunities offered by specialist teachers, pupils have succeeded in academic, musical and sporting endeavours.

One of our pupils in the Senior School, Danial Nielson-Frost, has been chosen to represent Singapore in the CIK FIA Karting World Championships in Italy. Another, Nicholas Goh, has won Gold in the Euroasia violin regional competition. Both achievements are wonderful reward for the hard work and dedication these pupils have showed in pursuing their talents.

Academically, Marlborough pupils have also achieved excellence. At the recent Pearson Medallion Awards Ceremony, held in Kuala Lumpur on 5th September 2015, five pupils from Marlborough College Malaysia received awards recognising their achievements for gaining the highest marks in Malaysia in the Edexcel IGCSE examinations.

The award winners were: Ameer Chugthai for History and Religious Studies, Anya Igwe for Religious Studies, Edward Chai for Science, Frederico Smith for Spanish and Richard Lai for Geography – a remarkable success for the College, reflecting Marlborough’s superb first set of IGCSE examination results.

The prestigious awards were presented by Her Excellency Vicki Treadell, the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, and were a fitting tribute to the pupils who had worked tirelessly to achieve success in the June 2014 examinations. In addition, the College was presented with a “Centre of Excellence” award in recognition of a fine first foray into external examinations. Frederico Smith’s achievements were particularly impressive considering that he was only in Shell (Year 9) when he sat his Spanish examination.  As the pupils continue in the Sixth Form and embark on the IB Diploma Programme, we look forward to their next successes.

With so many wonderful opportunities for pupils to find and nurture their talents, we look forward to Marlborough pupils continuing to be recognised for their hard work, determination and high level achievement.
