Taylor’s International School Makes its Grand Entrance!

Taylor’s International School celebrated its official launch on Thursday,17 April 2014 in a private ceremony in its newly renovated Kuala Lumpur campus. The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Haji Idris Bin Jusoh, Minister of Education II and over 150 guests were in attendance.

Taylor’s International School is the latest addition to the Taylor’s Education Group. It offers a global learning experience based on the highly valued National Curriculum for England and Wales, which leads to excellence in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) qualifications. The school provides holistic, student-centered life-long learning that focuses on balanced development for students. Besides academic achievements, it emphasizes the importance of character building grounded in the best of Eastern and Western values, and provides the students with a tri-lingual language foundation.

 In his officiating speech, YB Dato’ Seri Haji Idris said, ”Education is fundamental to nation building and unity. It is the Government’s aspiration to develop the nation’s youth into well-rounded, purposeful leaders, ready to contribute and take their productive places in the 21st century.” To drive Malaysia’s education transformation, the Government has introduced the School Based Assessment, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), Digital Interactive Textbooks and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in order to encourage holistic, well-rounded personal growth in students, develop 21st Century skills such as critical and creative thinking, and spur flexibility of educational access. “I believe that the ethos of Taylor’s International School is very much in line with the Government’s aspiration and will certainly help to develop our nation’s youth into productive global citizens who will ensure that Malaysia remains competitive in the global arena,” he added.

Catering for students from Early Years (age 4) to Secondary (age 16), Taylor’s International School has two campuses located in Kuala Lumpur and Puchong. Future expansion plans will see a Taylor’s International School in every major city in Malaysia. These schools aim to be exceptional neighborhood international curriculum schools and continue Taylor’s fine tradition of developing the nation’s youth into well-rounded, purposeful leaders, ready to contribute and take their productive place in the global community.

In his introductory address, Mr. BK Gan, President of Taylor’s Schools highlighted, “At Taylor’s we seek to provide the students with choices throughout their education pathway, offering education excellence from the moment they join us at age 4 till they graduate with a degree.” He added, “This is how we hope to meet our nation's manpower need by preparing a new generation of confident leaders for the country as it journeys towards being an industrialized nation by 2020.”

During the launch, guests were entertained by the harmonious school choir and orchestra singing the new Taylor’s International School anthem, “‘Taylor’s, Finest in the World” with pride and passion, as well as an energetic performance from the homegrown STomP group. Guests were also invited to a tour around the school campus to view the expansive campus grounds and the various state-of-the-art facilities offered by the school.

Taylor’s International School, Kuala Lumpur is the first campus under Taylor’s International School followed by a second campus in Puchong, opening in January 2015. As part of Taylor’s Education Group, which also comprises of Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University, the school strives to continue its heritage of educational excellence. In 2013, Taylor’s Schools, Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University were awarded the highest rating in their category by the Ministry of Education (MOE). Taylor’s College achieved the 6 Stars Rating by MOE whilst Taylor’s University achieved Tier 6, the highest D-SETARA rating by the Ministry of Education for Hospitality and Tourism discipline.
