Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) Year 6 student, Reese Matthew Kam, is the youngest of five winners chosen in a competition to illustrate the Transformasi Nasional (TN50) logo. The competition challenged participants to design the logo with one’s aspiration for the nation in year 2050, and 10-year-old Reese’s aspiration for a truly united yet diverse Malaysia won the support of our Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Razak.
Some 500 people attended the TN50 Launch event which included discussions on several key areas namely economy and employment, sports, administration, quality of life and lifestyle and community. The event was held at the Alya International Gallery in Bukit Kiara was hosted by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin. The TN50 Circles of the Future is a program where youth and senior experts collaborate to develop recommendations for TN50, Malaysia’s Vision for the future beyond 2020 to 2050.
The Prime Minister shared Reese’s aspirations during the event, that the uniqueness of Malaysia should continue to be maintained and cared for. "This is what we want, the participation of all ages in shaping the country's future,’ said the Prime Minister.
Reese studies under the AISM's Gifted and Talented Program, which aims to create learning experiences that consider students’ unique talents, interests, abilities and learning preferences in order to accelerate learning beyond the core curriculum.
