Pre-University Providers at the 11th PISF in Johor
Pre-university studies are the next step in a student’s education journey after completing secondary school. There are many pre-university options available nowadays in colleges and universities, as well as in international schools. Pre-university qualifications are required for students in order to pursue undergraduate programmes at higher education institutions.
Here are the exhibitors at the 11th Private & International School Fair in Johor that offer pre-university programmes:
1. Crescendo-HELP International School
Crescendo-HELP International School (CHIS) offers the International Primary Curriculum, British Curriculum and IGCSE examinations. A Levels is offered at pre-university level. The school began operating in 2017 and accepts students at primary and secondary school levels. CHIS is the brainchild of the HELP Education Group and Crescendo Corporation Bhd.
Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) is a co-educational and fully residential institution specialising in university preparation. KYUEM offers the A Levels and is modelled after a British sixth form college. The college is located in Lembah Beringin, 70km away from Kuala Lumpur. There is also a variety of extracurricular activities for students to choose from such as Model United Nations, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Malay Cultural Club, among others.
3. Marlborough College Malaysia
Marlborough College Malaysia is a British boarding and day school which was established in 2012. The school accepts students to enter Reception to Sixth Form levels. The school offers the British Curriculum, IGCSE examinations and IB Diploma programme. Boarding is available for students in Year 5 and above. They are grouped into houses which accommodate up to 60 pupils per house. Each house is overseen by a Housemaster or Housemistress. Marlborough College Malaysia offers Prep Boarding, Senior Boarding and Day Boarding.
4. Nexus International School Malaysia
Nexus International School Malaysia is one of the four international schools under Taylor’s Schools. Established in 2008, the school caters to students from Early Years level to Year 13 and offers the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Students sit for the IGCSE examinations at the end of secondary school. The IB Diploma Programme is offered at pre-university level. Boarding facilities are available at the Nexus Boarding House and students aged ten and above can apply for a free boarding trial.
5. Newcastle University of Medicine, Malaysia
In 2011, Newcastle University launched an international campus in Johor, Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed), and offers medical and health science programmes. Students can pursue the Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at pre-university level. A place in NUMed’s undergraduate medical or biomedical science programmes will be automatically offered to students who pass the Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences course.
6. Sunway International School, Sunway Iskandar
The IBDP is offered at Sunway International School when students enter Grades 11 and 12. The school is recognised as an IB World School and is authorised to offer the IBDP at pre-university levels. In addition, Sunway International School provides the Canadian Curriculum to primary and secondary school students.
7. University of Reading Malaysia
University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) is the first overseas campus of University of Reading. Established in 2015, UoRM offers Foundation in Business and Foundation in Science programmes at pre-university level. Both foundation programmes take one year to complete and prepare students to enter degree-level programmes at UoRM.
