Join Me on a Kingsley Preschool Day
Hey there!
Have you ever wondered how a typical day in Kingsley looks like for a preschooler? Come and see some pictures and stories of my fun-filled day at school. It’s cool to be a learner at Kingsley because every day is such an exciting day, where we get to learn lots of new things.
Let’s take the plunge and find out!
Starting the Day
To start off our day, we have this amazing thing called the 24 Festive Drums. Imagine this: my friends and I, along with our older friends, perform on the drums with a huge smile on our faces!
Bringing loudness is not the issue here (though it always makes it enjoyable), it works towards making us get out of bed and be ready for the day.
The other benefit of 24 Festive Drums is how it requires focus and patience to play. We have to pay attention to the instructor to know their cue to beat the drum. It’s not simply beating the drum! Also, it’s kind of refreshing and reminiscent of getting ready for a workout since it quickens the heart rate and brings that excitement of the next thing.
Circle Time
Then comes Circle Time where all of it is put into use – the singing, dancing and drumming. It involves participating in a large group where we sit in a circle and talk. Sometimes we tell each other what we did the day before, or we discuss how we feel at a given period of time. This is a good time for us to relax after all that beating of the drums. It assists in granting a quiet ear that we are able to lend to one another. Also, we get to make friends and join hands to make the work come to completion.
Morning Lessons
Next, comes our morning lessons. What makes my school cool in my opinion is that not only is it based on the Cambridge curriculum, but we also get to choose the activity of the day. That means a child-led structured curriculum which include the interest of the class!
Our teachers always take the time to organise their lessons in a manner that is enjoyable for us.
One day we could be learning about the Cretaceous dinosaurs, and the next, it could be intergalactic space rockets. These lessons are all about the interest of the class and how those learning can be made fun, while reaching learning objectives!
Personalised education means every lesson is just right for us!
Snack Break
Learning makes us hungry; all that new knowledge learns about makes the tummy grumble, no wonder many of us are out looking for something to munch on at this time. It’s time for children to eat some fruits, crackers and can even have a nice tasty smoothie in the midst of the day. This is also a good time to catch up with our friends and what our snacks are all about. We need to eat well in order to be able to have more fun activities to do!
Creative Activities
Next on the schedule is, Creative Activities! Not only do we get fantastic people to work with, but we get to do all sorts of arts and crafts. They may draw with pencils and watercolours, create things with modelling clay, or make something unique with cut outs of newspapers and glue. It also enables us to day dream and also train our hand muscles thus enhancing our fine motor control. Also, we get to bring our creations home and be proud to show them to the parents.
Lunch Time
Lunch time at Kingsley is one of the best part of the day. We appreciate the delicious meals! It’s usually a balanced meal rich in nutrients, not to mention how filling it is. Special attention is given to the type of food to be offered in a day so that all the meals are grouped in the right categories such as vegetables, fruits, protein and grains. This helps us grow healthy and strong, so we can have lots of fun and learn new things.
Mealtime routines at Kingsley cannot be overemphasised. Everyone eats together and this helps to learn table manners and also how everyone likes to have friends to eat with. It becomes so relaxing for us since it allows us to talk more about what we have been doing the whole day before going back to the numerous other activities. Also, we get to discover more about other foods from other parts of the world, making each culinary journey a great one!
Afternoon Lessons
In the afternoon, we have more lessons, but they’re different from the morning ones. These afternoon lessons are all about learning with our whole body and mind. We might do some practice mindfulness, or even have a mini science experiment. These activities help us learn in a fun and engaging way, making sure we’re developing in every possible way.
Outdoor Time
After lunch, we head outside for some outdoor play. This is one of my favourite times of the day! We run around, play games, and sometimes even go on little nature walks. Outdoor time is great because it helps us stay active, and we get to explore the world around us. It’s also a perfect time to let off some steam before we go back to more learning.
Maple Leaf Kingsley International School incorporates both certified and personalised education into our outdoor time. We might have structured games that teach us teamwork and fair play, or we might explore nature, looking at plants and bugs and learning about the environment around us. The teachers pay attention to what we’re interested in and plan activities that keep us engaged and curious.
Wrap-Up and Reflection
As the day comes to an end, we gather again and sit in a circle while talking about what we did that day. It’s a great way to remember all the fun things we learned and to share our favourite moments with our friends. It also helps us wind down and get ready to go home.
Conclusion
A day at Maple Leaf Kingsley International School is filled with joy, learning, and lots of play. The teachers here are amazing because they plan everything with our interests and needs in mind. From the Festive Drums to the final day’s reflection, every part of the day is designed to help us grow and develop in the best way possible. Kingsley isn’t just a school; it’s a place where we can be ourselves, explore our curiosities, and make great friends.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
