On 11 September, Baseerah International School organised a fire drill and CPR training session as part of its ongoing commitment to student safety and holistic development. The initiative was designed to raise awareness among students about the importance of being prepared for emergencies, while also giving them practical skills they can carry for life. Both teachers and staff played a key role in guiding the sessions, ensuring that every child had the opportunity to learn in a safe and supportive environment.
The program began with a simulated fire drill exercise. Students were guided step by step on how to evacuate classrooms quickly and calmly, following the instructions of their teachers with discipline and focus. This activity helped them understand that during an emergency, every second counts and staying calm can save lives. By experiencing the drill firsthand, students not only learned the procedures, but also built confidence in their ability to respond effectively should a real situation occur.
After the fire drill, the focus shifted towards CPR training, conducted by experienced members of St. John Ambulance. In this session, students were introduced to the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a vital life-saving technique. Trainers demonstrated the correct methods and gave students the chance to practice under guidance, allowing them to experience the seriousness and responsibility that comes with such skills. For many, it was their first time engaging in this kind of practical, hands-on training.
The experience was not only educational but also empowering, as students realized that they, too, could make a difference in critical moments. Activities like these serve as a reminder that education at Baseerah extends beyond academic excellence — it includes character-building, responsibility, and care for others. Teachers and staff were encouraged by the enthusiasm of the students, who approached the training with focus and determination.
These safety programs reflect the school’s mission to provide a holistic education that combines knowledge with values, discipline, and real-world skills. By learning both the theory and practice of safety measures, students are better equipped to protect themselves and those around them.
💡 At Baseerah International School, safety and character are nurtured hand in hand — preparing future leaders who are responsible, confident, and ready to serve their communities.
