Perak has transformed into an international school hub in the last few years. There are currently nine international schools located in Perak. A majority of them can be found in Ipoh, Perak’s capital city.

1. Asia Metropolitan International School (AMETIS)
Asia Metropolitan International School (AMETIS) opened in Ipoh in 2013. The school offers primary and secondary school levels where students enter Year 1 to Year 11. Students are taught the British Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations at the end of secondary school. During school hours, all AMETIS students study Malay and Mandarin in addition to English.
2. City Harbour International School
City Harbour International School was established in 2017. The school is located in Seri Manjung and is the only international school located in the area. Preschool, primary, secondary and pre-university levels are offered by the school. Students are taught the British Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE and A Level examinations. City Harbour International School also provides boarding facilities to its students.
3. EdQuest International School
Established in 2019, EdQuest International School is open to students at primary, secondary and pre-university levels. The school offers the Cambridge International Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE and A Level examinations. EdQuest International School is located in Ipoh.
4. Fairview International School
Fairview International School Ipoh is part of the largest International Baccalaureate (IB) education provider in Malaysia. The group is now international with branch in the UK and Indonesia. As the only authorised IB World School in Perak to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), Fairview Ipoh delivers the renowned and vigorous IB programme at the most affordable fee.
5. Imperial International School
Established in January 2020, Imperial International School is located in the township of Menglembu, Ipoh. The school offers the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Cambridge International Curriculum that leads to the IGCSE and A Level examinations.
In addition, the school’s curriculum aims to future-proof students with 4D immersive learning and global exposure. Mandarin is studied at primary and secondary school levels which prepare students to select Mandarin as an IGCSE elective. Imperial International School is also the sister school to Peninsula International School Australia in Selangor.
6. Seri Botani International School
The school can be found in Bandar Seri Botani, Ipoh. Established in 2020, the school is open to students in Early Years as well as Year 1 to Year 9 for their first year. Years 10 and 11 will be introduced in the future. Seri Botani International School offers the Cambridge International Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Boarding facilities are also available at the school.
7. Tenby International School Ipoh
Tenby Schools Ipoh was established in 1960 to cater to the children of the British expatriate community in Perak. In 2013, the school moved to a purpose-built campus in Bandar Meru Raya. The Tenby Schools network has expanded since then, with five branches all over Malaysia. Tenby Schools Ipoh is divided into Tenby International School, offering the Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels, and Sekolah Sri Tenby, offering the Malaysian National curriculum. Tenby International School offers the British Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Home-style boarding houses are also provided less than 1 km away from the campus.
8. Wesley Methodist Schools Ipoh (International)
Located in the heart of Ipoh, Wesley Methodist Schools Ipoh (International) is one of the three international school branches under the Wesley Methodist Schools umbrella. The school offers primary and secondary school levels. Students are prepared to sit for the IGCSE examinations at the end of secondary school.
9. Westlake International School
Westlake International School is located in Kampar. The school opened its doors to students in 2013 and offers the British Curriculum. Students are accepted to enter levels from early years to pre-university (age four to 17). The IGCSE and A Level qualifications are offered by the school. In addition, boarding facilities are provided to students.
