Love in Action: A Christmas Celebration of Empathy and Unity
Christmas is a time for giving, sharing, and spreading love, and this year at R.E.A.L. Schools Permas Jaya Campus, we embraced the spirit of the season with the theme "Love in Action". Our school community came together to make a meaningful impact by contributing to the Shoebox Project, collecting over 150 gifts for the children of Pusat Kebajikan Kalvari (PKK).
Thanks to the generosity of our parents, students, and staff, we also raised RM1,920 through a donation drive, in addition to heartfelt food contributions. These collective efforts made it possible for us to provide a truly special and festive experience for the children.
On the day of the event, 51 children aged 3 to 18 from PKK visited our school for a celebration filled with joy, creativity, and connection. Thanks to the hard work and thoughtfulness of our International School CSR Student Committee, teachers, and Student Ambassadors, the day was packed with exciting activities designed to foster empathy, teamwork, and friendship.
Crafting Joy for Younger Children
For the younger children, our Primary School CSR Committee led creative craft-making sessions. These hands-on activities were not only fun but also deeply meaningful, allowing the children to feel the care and appreciation from our school community. It was heartwarming to see the bonds formed as our students guided and encouraged the children, creating an atmosphere of belonging and connection.
Station Games for Older Children
The older children enjoyed a variety of engaging station games organised by our Secondary School CSR Committee and Student Ambassadors. These games were thoughtfully designed to encourage teamwork and communication while bringing laughter and joy to all participants. The interaction between our students and the PKK children was a beautiful reminder of the power of shared experiences to build friendships and create lasting memories.
More Than Festivities: A Lesson in Love
While the activities brought smiles and laughter, the true essence of the event lay in its message—that love is best expressed through action. Through the Shoebox Project and the day's festivities, our school community demonstrated what it means to give back, to empathise, and to unite in the spirit of generosity.
This event wasn't just about celebrating the season; it was an opportunity for our students to learn valuable life lessons about empathy, leadership, and the joy of giving. The smiles, laughter, and connections formed during the day were a testament to the meaningful impact of this celebration.
Gratitude to Our Supporters
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our parents, students, and staff for their incredible support in making this event possible. Your generosity and involvement ensured that the children from PKK experienced a day filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.
A special thank you to SHF Services - Delischool for their generous contribution of free meals, ensuring a heartwarming breakfast for all the children and making the day even more memorable!
As we look back on this heartwarming celebration, we are reminded of the importance of coming together as a community to make a difference in the lives of others. This Christmas, "Love in Action" wasn't just a theme—it was a mission that united us all.
