Uplands Primary had an exciting start to our online schooling this term with the celebration of the Paralympics Games. The fires of inspiration were lit with our own Uplands Paralympics kicking off with the creation of a Paralympic Torch design, followed by the designing of some snazzy uniforms and crazily creative Mascots. The students then had 2 weeks of learning about the different Paralympic sports and what the athletes have to overcome in order to achieve what they have. Many of these sports were altered so that the students could attempt them at home, many of which required a little creativity on their part, and saw some wonderful interactions between family members. The values of the Paralympic Games, 'Courage, determination, inspiration, and equality', have been exemplified these past 2 weeks by our students, and we are proud of not only their risk-taking attitude, but by their caring natures and respect of diversity. We hope you enjoy these videos that showcase the enjoyment of partaking in our Uplands Paralympics.
