With a history stretching back 28 years, The children’s house has established itself as a premier preschool education provider in Malaysia. The very first preschool in Malaysia to offer the complete Montessori method of education, The children’s house provides an early education environment that enables children to develop academically and holistically, and ignites in them a lifelong love for learning.

A TRADITION OF TEACHING EXCELLENCE

The children’s house was founded by Nan Civel, an educator who was inspired by the philosophy of Maria Montessori and embarked on a three-year course of study and work program in the Maria Montessori Training Organization in the UK in 1983. Her experiences there gave her the confidence and motivation to return to Malaysia and set up the first Montessori preschool here, The children’s house, in Damansara Heights in 1986. Since then, The children’s house has expanded, and now encompasses a network of nine preschools located throughout the Klang Valley, which have served more than 10,000 children from over 50 countries.

The children’s house teachers adhere to the values and vision that the school was founded upon, and many of them have been with the school since its inception 28 years ago.

Offering programs for children from three months to six years of age, The children’s house aims to provide an education for life by fostering strong values and instilling within children a love and respect for the diversity of humanity. Children emerge from the school as confident, independent, and above all, positive individuals who can contribute and make a difference in the world.

The learning environment at The children’s house is dynamic, fully-equipped, and stimulating, and aims to meet the individual needs of each child in his or her physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and creative development. By working independently with a wide variety of materials available, children learn to make choices, and develop problem-solving skills.
