Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a family will make. At KTJ, we understand that every child has a unique story, distinctive strengths, and individual aspirations for the future. That is why our Admissions Team takes great pride in getting to know every family personally.
Throughout the year, we welcome prospective families from Malaysia and around the world. While visiting schools can feel overwhelming, our goal is simple: to ensure that every family experiences the warmth of our community and gains a genuine understanding of life at KTJ.
Every visit is tailored to the individual family. Depending on a family's interests and their child's age, we can arrange bespoke conversations with members of our experienced senior leadership and pastoral teams, including our Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, Head of Senior School, Director of Studies, Head of Boarding, and other key colleagues. These discussions allow families to ask questions and explore the opportunities, support, and pathways available to their child.
Given the size of our campus, we often offer a buggy tour to help visitors explore the grounds comfortably. Along the way, we may stop at one of our day or boarding houses to gain a deeper understanding of our pastoral care.
Visiting during term time offers a true glimpse into our daily school life:
See learning in action. Families may encounter younger Primary pupils collaborating on themed IPC projects with their teachers and classmates in preparation for an Entry or Exit Point celebration with parents. Elsewhere, Year 8 students may be conducting science experiments outdoors, making full use of the green spaces, while IGCSE students work on projects in Art, Design Technology, or Food and Nutrition in our Waterfront classrooms, surrounded by natural light from floor-to-ceiling glass walls.
Explore purpose-built spaces. From our exceptional Performing Arts studios for music, drama, and dance, to our recently remodelled English and Mathematics classrooms, our facilities are designed to inspire creativity and confidence for active, collaborative learning. For our Sixth Form students, a dedicated Sixth Form Centre provides spaces for independent study, mentoring conversations, university and career guidance, and collaborative discussions with peers and staff. We also regularly host student and parent workshops in our Conference Centre, which features the latest audio-visual technology. As a non-profit school established in 1991, KTJ continually reinvests in our campus to enhance the student experience.
Hear authentic perspectives. If a tour takes place during break or lunch, visitors may chat informally with students in our houses, and prospective students may speak with current students of a similar age about lessons, friendships, boarding life, favourite activities, or a typical day. These unscripted moments often become the highlight of a visit, giving visitors a genuine glimpse of everyday life at KTJ.
Build meaningful connections. While our facilities, academic programmes, boarding provision, and extensive co-curricular opportunities are important aspects of the KTJ experience, the most valuable part of every visit is the opportunity to build meaningful connections. We are here not simply to showcase our school, but to listen carefully to each family's hopes, questions, and ambitions for the future. Those conversations often provide valuable insights for both families and our team.
