Raising awareness about Autismโ€”at just 8 years old?
Yes, you heard us right! Meet Lim Liane Shay, who clinched the Social Impact Award at the recent ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ด ๐—˜๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ซ ๐—™๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ (๐—ฌ๐—˜๐—ซ) ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฑ for his business idea!
Shay founded ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€, a clothing line dedicated to spreading awareness and acceptance of autism through vibrant graphic t-shirts featuring empowering slogans. His mission? To spark conversations, foster understanding, and help reduce bullying towards the autism community. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป
But Shayโ€™s journey wasnโ€™t just about a great idea, the next challenge for him was to overcome his stage fright. Thanks to his ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐—ฟ teachers, he was able to perfect his hand gestures and present his idea confidently in front of a panel of international judges. ๐Ÿ’ช
Reflecting on his time in Jakarta, Shay shared that the best part of YEX was the friendships he made and the unforgettable experiences throughout the competition. His advice to future YEX participants: ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ด๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜‚๐—ฝ! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Shay is proof that age is just a number when it comes to making a difference! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
