Raising awareness about Autism—at just 8 years old?
Yes, you heard us right! Meet Lim Liane Shay, who clinched the Social Impact Award at the recent 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿 𝗫 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗬𝗘𝗫) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 for his business idea!
Shay founded 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀, a clothing line dedicated to spreading awareness and acceptance of autism through vibrant graphic t-shirts featuring empowering slogans. His mission? To spark conversations, foster understanding, and help reduce bullying towards the autism community. 🫶🏻
But Shay’s journey wasn’t just about a great idea, the next challenge for him was to overcome his stage fright. Thanks to his 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿 teachers, he was able to perfect his hand gestures and present his idea confidently in front of a panel of international judges. 💪
Reflecting on his time in Jakarta, Shay shared that the best part of YEX was the friendships he made and the unforgettable experiences throughout the competition. His advice to future YEX participants: 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽! 😉
