Sri KDU International School Klang proudly celebrates the participation of Alessia Centamore, Language and Literacy Faculty Leader and English Teacher, who was invited to speak at the prestigious Bett Asia 2026 conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Held on September 23 and 24, Bett Asia is one of the region’s leading education platforms, bringing together educators, innovators and thought leaders to shape the future of learning across Southeast Asia.
Alessia was featured in a panel discussion titled “Belonging Before Fluency: Supporting Wellbeing and Inclusion in Multilingual Classrooms,” organised in collaboration with ISC Research. The session explored how international schools can better support multilingual learners through inclusive practices that prioritise both wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.
"Hearing the same question answered from a pastoral perspective alongside my own language perspective was the highlight for me. It's a conversation I'm keen to keep having at Sri KDU Klang, because belonging and language development go hand in hand,’ shared Alessia.
Her invitation to this regional platform reflects not only her individual expertise, but also the strength and depth of Sri KDU Klang’s academic team.
As Language and Literacy Faculty Leader, Alessia plays a key role in shaping the school’s approach to language development. She leads the delivery of English and English as an Additional Language (EAL) department and oversees the Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin Chinese departments as part of the wider language faculty to ensure a cohesive and high-quality learning experience for all students. Her work is grounded in a strong understanding of multilingual education, informed by international teaching experience and a commitment to inclusive classroom practice.
"We are incredibly proud of Alessia’s contribution at Bett Asia 2026. Her presence on such a respected platform reflects the calibre of our academic team and our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. At Sri KDU Klang, we believe that a strong sense of belonging is fundamental to student success, and Alessia’s work exemplifies how our educators are leading meaningful impact both within and beyond the classroom,” shared Rhys Thomas, Campus Principal of Sri KDU International School Klang.
Alessia’s participation at Bett Asia underscores Sri KDU Klang’s commitment to Continuous Improvement, one of XCL Education’s core promises to families. By actively contributing to regional and global conversations in education, Sri KDU educators remain at the forefront of best practices. These insights are continuously brought back into the classroom, strengthening programmes such as the school’s EAL provision and enhancing outcomes for a diverse, international student community.
As Sri KDU Klang continues to grow as a leading international school in Malaysia, achievements like this reinforce the calibre of its educators and its dedication to academic excellence, innovation and the development of future-ready learners.
