Most internationals are located in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Here are nine new schools that will open their doors in 2018 and 2019.
1. Acmar International School
Acmar International School is an expansion of Sekolah Sri Acmar, a private school located in Klang. Established in 2018, Acmar International School offers the Cambridge curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. The school welcomes students from preschool, primary and secondary levels.
2. Hua Xia International School
Located in Seri Kembangan, Hua Xia Private School introduced an international syllabus in 2018. Hua Xia International School offers the Cambridge curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations. Hua Xia International School also opened up a branch in Georgetown, Penang earlier this year.
3. International School of Kuala Lumpur (Ampang Hilir Campus)
The International School of Kuala Lumpur offers an international curriculum with an American foundation. Students at pre-university level sit for the IB Diploma Programme. The International School of Kuala Lumpur currently has two branches in Ampang and Taman Melawati. The Ampang Hilir branch is scheduled to open in August 2018.
4. King Henry VIII College
King Henry VIII College is an established British boarding school and the first overseas school for Christ College in Brecon, Wales. Located in Cyberjaya, King Henry VIII College offers the British Curriculum leading up to the IGCSE examinations at primary and secondary levels. The A Level examinations are offered at pre-university level. King Henry VIII College will open their doors in September 2018.
5. Oasis International School Kuala Lumpur
Oasis International School Kuala Lumpur offers the American Curriculum for students in primary and secondary levels (K4 to Grade 12). Located in Bandar Rimbayu, Oasis International School Kuala Lumpur will open their doors on 29 August 2018.
6. Peninsula International School Australia
Peninsula International School Australia offers the Victorian Curriculum leading up to the Victorian Certificate of Education. Students from Prep to Grade 12 (Ages 6 to 17) are welcomed at Peninsula International School Australia. Located in Setia Alam, Peninsula International School Australia is opened in January 2018.
7. Straits International School (Rawang Campus)
Straits International School was originally established in Penang in 2012 and will open a branch in Rawang in September 2018. The British Curriculum is offered to students at preschool, primary and secondary levels. Students in Year 11 will sit for the IGCSE examinations.
8. Tenby International School, Tropicana Aman
Tenby’s newest international school will open this year in Tropicana Aman. Similar to its other branches, Tenby International School Tropicana Aman offers the British Curriculum at preschool, primary and secondary school levels. Tenby Schools has multiple branches in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Sarawak.
9. Wesley Methodist School Bandar Sri Coalfields
The newest addition to Wesley Methodist Schools will open in Bandar Sri Coalfields in 2019. The school will offer the Malaysian and Cambridge curriculum at primary level only. Wesley Methodist Schools have branches in Penang, Perak and Kuala Lumpur.
