Epsom College in Malaysia Offers an Exclusive Glimpse of its World-Class Campus
In anticipation of Epsom College in Malaysia’s inaugural student intake this September, the prestigious co-educational boarding school for 3 to 18 year-olds opened its doors on 20 February 2014 for an exclusive glimpse of its state-of-the-art campus facilities.
Strategically located in Bandar Enstek, an hour south of Kuala Lumpur, Epsom College in Malaysia is a mere 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). This 50-acre development is Epsom’s first overseas campus.
Steeped in 150 years of rich UK heritage, Epsom College in Malaysia will offer students a first class British education experience. Following the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) syllabus, Epsom College in Malaysia aims to mirror the academic excellence of Epsom College in the UK which consistently achieves an 84% of A-level grades at A*, A or B grade.
Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes, Chairman of Governors, Mr Martin George, Headmaster, Mr Mike Oliver, Head of Senior School, and Mrs Jane Smith, Head of Prep School of Epsom College in Malaysia personally led members of the media from Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam on an exclusive campus tour.
The guided tour commenced at the administration block located at the heart of the college campus. Tastefully designed, it offers a welcoming reception to receive both parents and visitors. From here, the tour party visited the student classrooms that will accommodate 24 pupils in the Senior School and 16 in the Prep School.
At the college library, dedicated facilities for class teaching, group study and individual research offer a conducive space for further learning. “The college has allocated RM1 million for books and digital resources for 2014 alone. Together with Wi-Fi capability this will be the perfect working and research environment for our students,” remarked Mr Martin George.
The tour continued with a visit to the Boarding Houses. Epsom College UK has been committed to providing boarding school education since it was founded in 1855. This renowned close-knit house system has become one of the contributing reasons parents choose Epsom College for their children.

As the tour of the new campus grounds drew to a close, guests were shown the art and design facilities which include a stunning 600-seat theatre, recital hall, dance studio, 20 music rehearsal suites, 5 ensemble rooms and a specialist Art and Design Technology Centre.

With food being at the heart of any good British schooling system, the tour ended with a visit to the Dining Hall which will offer students and staff alike local, regional and international meals, freshly prepared on campus and designed by nutritionists to ensure a wholesome balanced diet.
