The purpose of the visit was to undertake fieldwork for their studies and experience first-hand many of their case study locations. The JIS senior students spent their time visiting many sites of geographical interest in Singapore including Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, the NEWater visitor centre and the Marina Barrage Sustainability Gallery.

Students also had the opportunity to visit the Gardens by the Bay and ended their trip with views from the Singapore Flyer. Will Cullen, Head of Department said, ‘Singapore is an excellent case study for our students because it takes an integrated approach to sustainable development, a topic which is central to the IB Diploma and A-Level.’ At JIS, educational visits are a core component of all students’ education in the Upper Years.
