In conjunction with Malaysia’s Independence Day, Baseerah International School organised a vibrant celebration filled with creativity, colour, and unity. The event, held at the school campus, aimed to instill patriotism and love for the nation among its students in a fun and engaging way. Teachers and staff guided the children through various activities that encouraged both teamwork and artistic expression, reminding everyone that Merdeka is not only about history, but also about the pride and joy of being Malaysian.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the face mask colouring activity. Students were given plain masks and asked to transform them using the colours of the Jalur Gemilang. With red, white, blue, and yellow crayons and markers in hand, the children carefully coloured each section, turning a simple mask into a proud symbol of Malaysia. Some students even wore the masks afterward, smiling brightly as they showed their patriotic designs to their friends. This activity not only nurtured their creativity but also gave them a sense of pride in displaying the national flag in a unique and personal way.
The celebration continued with two more exciting activities. Students worked on designing traditional Wau Bulan, a cultural icon of Malaysia, by colouring it with patriotic motifs and flag-inspired patterns. The vibrant designs reflected Malaysia’s rich heritage and diversity, showing how traditional symbols can be celebrated in a modern classroom. At another station, students collaborated to complete a puzzle of the Jalur Gemilang. Piece by piece, the flag came together, symbolising teamwork, unity, and the idea that every individual plays a role in building the nation. The excitement in the room grew louder as the final piece was placed, and the puzzle revealed Malaysia’s proud emblem.

Baseerah International School hopes that through such celebrations, students will continue to embrace the true spirit of Merdeka in their daily lives. Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!
Through this celebration, Baseerah International School reminded its students that the true spirit of Merdeka lies in unity, creativity, and a shared love for the nation. Activities like these ensure that even the youngest generation can feel connected to Malaysia’s story and values. The school hopes that the joy and pride experienced during the event will inspire students to carry the spirit of Merdeka into their everyday lives, building a future generation that is patriotic, responsible.
Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!
