With a vision to set a benchmark for boarding excellence, Sri KDU International School Klang unveils a new on-campus boarding facility designed to support students’ learning, independence and well-being.
Sri KDU International School Klang has unveiled its new on-campus international boarding facility, extending the school experience beyond the classroom and creating new residential opportunities for students and families.
Celebrated on 9 October 2026, the unveiling brought together the school’s leadership team, representatives from XCL Education Malaysia, the Board of Governors for Sri KDU Schools and international education partners for an exclusive preview of the facility.
Designed around the philosophy of Learn | Live | Belong, the Boarding House reflects the school’s commitment to an experience that combines comfortable accommodation with personal development, attentive care and a strong sense of community.
A home away from home, where every student belongs
The opening of the Boarding House extends the Sri KDU International School Klang experience beyond the classroom, giving students new opportunities to learn through everyday experiences and develop greater independence. In his welcome address, Campus Principal Rhys Thomas reflected on what this means for the school and its families.

A facility like this allows us to welcome more students, support more families and offer greater flexibility in the way students can experience life at Sri KDU Klang. But for me, what matters most is not the building itself. It is what we hope this place will become.
We want this to be a place where students feel that they belong. A place that feels like home. When a student walks through these doors at the end of a school day, they will be coming home to a community that knows them, cares for them and is here for them,” shared Rhys Thomas, Campus Principal, Sri KDU International School Klang
The Boarding House offers two options to accommodate different family needs. International students can opt for full-time boarding while pursuing their education in Klang, while weekday boarding gives Malaysian families, particularly those living further away, greater flexibility during the school week.
Safe, Happy and Successful: At the heart of boarding life
A positive boarding experience depends on more than comfortable accommodation. It requires consistent care, thoughtful guidance and an understanding of the challenges students may face as they adjust to residential life. Head of Boarding House Copter Brunt brings this responsibility into focus through three guiding principles: Safe, Happy and Successful.

For some of our students, this may be their first time living away from home, and for some, their first experience in a new country. We recognise the responsibility that comes with that. Our role is to make that transition as positive as possible, giving students the guidance, reassurance and support they need as they adjust to a different way of life. We want them to feel secure, settle in comfortably and have the opportunity to make the most of their time here,” said Copter Brunt, Head of Boarding House, Sri KDU International School Klang.
These principles guide the boarding team’s approach to students’ daily lives.
Safe: Safety extends beyond the physical environment. Students should feel comfortable approaching trusted adults, sharing concerns and seeking help when they need it, whether they are feeling homesick or navigating personal challenges. The facility’s 24-hour security and access control provide an additional layer of physical security.
Happy: Boarding should be an enriching part of school life, with opportunities to build friendships, explore interests and enjoy activities beyond the classroom. Students can access facilities such as the football field and basketball courts, as well as the swimming pool and rock-climbing wall under supervision.
Successful: Everyday responsibilities, shared experiences and guidance from the Boarding House team can help students develop independence, practical life skills and confidence. The aspiration is for students to leave Sri KDU with meaningful friendships, lasting memories and a stronger understanding of what they can achieve independently.
Together, these principles provide a framework for a boarding experience that supports students’ well-being while encouraging them to make the most of their time at Sri KDU International School Klang.
Designed for everyday living, built around student well-being
The new four-storey Boarding House is designed to accommodate up to 100 students aged 11 and above, providing a dedicated residential environment that brings together comfort, convenience and care.

Facilities include air-conditioned accommodation, high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuite bathroom facilities, 24-hour security and access control, laundry and housekeeping services, and three nutritious meals daily, alongside evening snacks.

These amenities support the practical needs of residential life, allowing students to focus on their studies, friendships, interests and personal growth. The Boarding House team and House Parents will also help students settle into routines, navigate everyday challenges and feel connected to the community around them.

With access to the school's wider facilities and activities, boarders can enjoy a more integrated school experience, balancing learning with recreation, personal interests and opportunities to build meaningful relationships.
For international students, the facility provides a residential setting where they can pursue their education while receiving structured support as they adjust to life away from home. For Malaysian students, weekday boarding offers another way to experience Sri KDU International School Klang, developing greater independence while remaining part of a supportive educational community.
A new chapter, with a lasting purpose
The opening of the Boarding House marks an important step in Sri KDU International School Klang’s commitment to extending its educational experience beyond the classroom.
As the boarding community grows, the school’s ambition is to create an environment where high standards of care go hand in hand with opportunities for students to develop independence, build lasting friendships and learn from life alongside others.
As this new chapter begins, Sri KDU International School Klang looks forward to building a boarding community where students can live with confidence, learn through every experience and feel that they truly belong.
