Tenby Schools Ipoh Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival
Tenby Schools Ipoh celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival in style recently, with more than 500 students, parents and members of staff present for this celebration of harvest, reunion and harmony.
A beautiful performance by the Chinese Orchestra of a local Chinese school opened the festival with a few Chinese classical pieces, one of which was “The Moon Represents My Heart”. The night was also filled with many exciting musical performances by students of Tenby Schools Ipoh – from renditions of popular Chinese songs to dance performances, which included a lovely Jasmine Flower dance, a Latin dance, a Chinese Fan dance and the Rumba, which was especially choreographed to a Chinese song for this festival. The teachers gave a lovely harmonica and piano recital to round up the evening.
The highlight of the night, however, came during the lighting of hot air lanterns, which was accompanied by the rhythmic beats, movement and lighted costumes of members of the 24 Drummers Group. It was truly a night to remember.
