KUALA LUMPUR, 30 June 2026 – Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) hosted the Sayembara Deklamasi Puisi Artistik Remaja ASEAN, China dan Rusia 2026, bringing together young literary talents from six nations in a celebration of language, culture and shared humanity. Held under the theme “Suara Kemanusiaan Sejagat” (Universal Voice of Humanity), the event highlighted the enduring importance of Bahasa Melayu, literature and cultural heritage in fostering understanding across borders.

 

Student representatives from Brunei Darussalam, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia and Thailand captivated audiences through artistic poetry performances that explored themes of peace, identity, humanity and cultural heritage.

 

Students of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) emerged as the Champion at the Sayembara Deklamasi Puisi Artistik Remaja ASEAN, China dan Rusia 2026

The international gathering demonstrated how language and literature continue to serve as powerful tools for connecting people from diverse backgrounds. Through poetry, participants showcased not only their literary talents but also their appreciation for cultural traditions and shared human values.

 

Organised by Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International), the event reflected the school's commitment to nurturing globally-minded students while promoting respect for language, culture and intercultural understanding. It also reinforced the relevance of Bahasa Melayu as a language of literary expression, cultural identity and international engagement.

 

Officiated by YB Tuan Yuneswaran Ramaraj, Deputy Minister of National Unity, the programme brought together distinguished educators, literary scholars and cultural leaders from Malaysia and abroad. Among them was National Laureate Dato' Rahman Shaari, who chaired the distinguished panel of judges.
