Celebrating Creative Achievement

A proud highlight for the school was the recognition of Sophia Xia Meng, who received the Best Choreography Award in the Primary category for her performance, Beyond the Beat.
Her Latin-fusion dance piece combined dynamic movement, contrasting musical styles, and expressive storytelling in a performance that demonstrated creativity, technical precision, and maturity beyond her years. Her choreography stood out for its originality, musicality, and confident execution.

Sophia’s achievement reflects not only individual talent, but a school culture that encourages students to develop their passions seriously and strive for excellence in the areas that matter to them.
A Platform for Growth
Performing before a distinguished panel of industry professionals, including Eugene Pook, Music Director and Conductor; Terry, Co-founder of Flow Performing Works; and Tria Aziz, award-winning performer and vocal coach, gave students valuable exposure to a more professional performance environment.

Experiences like these challenge students to raise their standards, strengthen their preparation, and perform with confidence and composure.

For students performing as part of group acts, the experience also reinforced collaboration, communication, and shared accountability. These are qualities that extend far beyond the stage and support success across many aspects of school life.

At Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya, the performing arts form part of a broader commitment to holistic education. Creative opportunities help students build resilience, discipline, and self-expression while developing the confidence to present their ideas and talents with conviction.
