Inside the Schools

On 10 March, our multipurpose hall became a space for inquiry, experimentation, and problem-solving during the HELP International School STEAM Fair. The event invited students to move beyond classroom theory and apply science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics to real-world challenges.

Student teams designed and presented working prototypes to a panel of external judges. Each team explained the problem they were addressing, the research behind their ideas, and the potential commercial or practical value of their solutions. The judging process encouraged students to think critically, communicate clearly, and defend their designs with evidence and reasoning.

Projects this year reflected a strong awareness of global challenges and emerging technologies. Students explored sustainable bio-plastics as alternatives to conventional materials, demonstrated concepts related to brain–computer interface technology, and designed rocket-based systems that could potentially support reforestation efforts in difficult-to-reach areas.

The fair also highlighted the innovative spirit within our staff community. We are grateful to Ms. Nadia Rosdi, Mr. Alastair, and our school nurse, Ms. Aziela, for sharing their own projects and demonstrating that curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning extend beyond the classroom.

Thank you to our students, judges, parents, and exhibitors for contributing to a day that celebrated inquiry, creativity, and practical problem-solving. Events like the STEAM Fair help students develop the skills and mindset needed to engage with real-world challenges and future opportunities.
