Book Week 2015 was full of creative and enjoyable events for The International School @ ParkCity (ISP). Kicking off the week was the Book Character Parade where students, staff and parents got into the spirit, showing their enthusiasm and love of literature. Various activities and competitions for each Key Stage took place throughout the week. Special guest, Maxine Rennard, author of ‘the Snail ate the mail’, inspired future writers on how to begin the process of creating their own storybooks. Fostering a love of reading was fuelled by Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) times where 10 minutes of reading for pleasure was enjoyed across the school. With spirits high, Friday’s Assembly ended with a spectacular finale where parents and students cheered during the staff Pantomime performance of ‘Bleeping Beauty’. Without doubt, participation of the whole ISP community contributed to Book Week’s success.
