Pink October @ The International School @ ParkCity
Pink October @ ISP is an annual school event in recognition of Cancer Awareness Month. The PTA @ ISP started the ball-rolling with a health talk for parents by Dr Evelyn Ho, who emphasized the importance of screening and awareness of breast cancer. Friday 10th October 2014, designated as ‘Pink Friday’, was a day when all students, parents and staff wore pink ribbons and dressed in pink to commemorate the occasion. The Year 10 and Year 11 students even organized a ‘bake sale’ which raised more than RM 7,000 for MAKNA, the National Cancer Council of Malaysia. Pink Friday was concluded with a memorable assembly led by the Student Council @ ISP who summarized the day’s events, and included a visit from The Band of the Parachute Regiment from United Kingdom. ISP is very thankful to everyone at ISP who has contributed to Pink October so far as the school strives to support others in the community who are less fortunate.
