POWIIS Celebrates Student Exam Successes

The recent IGCSE examinations saw many of our students pass with flying colours. One in three examinations were graded A* while the rest consisted of more than half scoring A*A and three quarter achieving A*- B! The overall success percentage has improved in 2015 due to the hard work of both students and teachers.

We are confident this upward trajectory will continue in 2017 with support from a strong (and very large) cohort of students entering year 11 after a successful first year of the course. We encourage our students to play to their strengths and choose subjects they are passionate about which will result in great results at the end of the day.

Our A Level students celebrated some outstanding successes as well and are about to head off to top universities around the world. POWIIS’ very own Yan Kit Tan is heading to University College London to study Economics and Business with East European Studies, after securing an impressive A*A*A*A grade.

Also, Jia Qin Lim is going to pursue his tertiary education at the London School of Economics with his A*A*AA grades. However, the top performing student at POWIIS, Erin Chan is still exploring the many educational opportunities that have arisen from her perfect A*A*A*AA score.

Not only that, Head Boy Vince De Leon has managed to secure a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music situated in Boston, Massachusetts, United States which he has deferred to complete a host of music projects and commissions here at home.

Besides that, 17 students are off to amazing universities all over the United Kingdom, United States, France, and Australia. We wish all our alumni the very best of luck as they set off to build their careers in many different fields and countries.

The 2017 cohort at POWIIS promises greater outcomes and bigger successes, being one of the strongest groups of students POWIIS has ever produced.
